A terrible tragedy took place many years ago in one particular flat at Bedok North Avenue near the Bedok Reservoir in Singapore. A man, woman and their child were creating a life for themselves until, in an effort to make extra money, the husband got caught up in gambling. After destroying the family's finances and owing loan sharks a large sum of money, the financial stress started taking a terrible toll on the marriage.
Eventually, the husband met another woman and informed his wife he wanted a divorce. In an event worse than any Shakespearean tragedy, the young mother threw her three-year-old toddler down 25 stories to his death before jumping out of the window herself.
The story turns even more unbelievable as local legend describes the widower eventually had another child with his mistress. On the child's third birthday, the ghost of a young boy, whom the child previously called his kor kor (brother), convinced the child to leap off of the balcony to fly. The child tumbled to his death.

World War II Ghosts at Changi Beach
During World War II, when the Japanese occupied Singapore, the Japanese government wanted to cleanse the population of anti-Japanese residents. The Pontianak is doomed to walk the Earth as a vampirish creature, intent on finding her next victim - the poor good-hearted driver who offered her a ride.
Charlie Company's Third Door
One of the most famous ghost stories is the 1980s tale of a soldier who disappeared during a routine basic training march. The Private was sick, so he was left behind on the trail to recover then catch up with Charlie Company. He never showed up. The men searched for him, but it wasn't until the following day that they found him...dead. His intestines were neatly laid beside his body. There was no blood, just a very neat abdominal incision.
His spirit refused to leave the camp. His fellow soldiers reported hearing him call out to them, his bunk shook in the middle of the night, and soldiers were shoved away from the bunk bed. Several soldiers were wakened during the night only to find him standing over them. It wasn't until priests were summoned that the haunting stopped. The priests suggested the military install a third door so the soldier's spirit could be released. The third door was installed and his ghost was no longer seen or heard.
Ghost of Ang Mo Kio Bridge
In the 1920s, a couple and their three children, two boys and a girl, lived on an estate that was located near the Ang Mo Kio Bridge. One day the three children were playing around the bridge when a sudden flash flood washed over them. All three of them died, but the little girl's body was never found. The woman swore that she could hear her daughter calling out and would stand on the bridge trying to coax the child's ghost to come home. She stood on the bridge every day for the rest of life, waiting for her daughter to come home.
